Introduction
What comes to mind when you think about psychics and psychic abilities? Does your mind conjure up the image of gypsies, or some old retarded woman who asks to read you 'life line' on your hand? Or do you visualise fortune tellers consulting their deck of well-used Tarot cards? Maybe the psychic you envisage doesn't use an gimmicks, but asks to hold your hand so she can give you a 'psychic reading'? Maybe, if you like a bit of history, you think of the famous Edgar Cayce. You may have read some of the countless papers that belong to his Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE) organization that has them archived - perhaps you have even read his books.
It doesn't matter what your mind conjures up when you think of psychics, although hopefully you will have found that you're good at visualising images with your mind, because that is precisely what 'genuine' (not deliberately fraudulent) psychics use and is one of the faculties that is harnessed and developed in psychic development circles. There seems to be a link between psychic abilities and the imagination. Since children have good imaginations, it should follow that they have incredible psychic abilities. Parapsychology hasn't found concrete evidence that ESP exists - in fact, the results from the experiments appear to be for and against its existence - so the theory is just a theory which hasn't been substantially proven.
